This is useful when you get a new computer or wish to switch between a desktop and a laptop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The license for eXPerience 8 can only be active on <strong>one computer at a time<\/strong>. To use the software on a new machine, you must first &#8220;log out&#8221; or deactivate the license from the original computer. If the software is open, the &#8220;Update&#8221; and &#8220;Log-out&#8221; buttons within the utility will be grayed out and disabled.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 2: Locate and Open the Software Key Utility<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Software Key utility is installed along with eXPerience 8. You can typically find it in one of two places:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method A: From the Windows System Tray<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Look for the Software Key icon in your System Tray, located at the bottom-right corner of your screen near the clock.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you don&#8217;t see it, click the small upward-facing arrow (<code>^<\/code>) to reveal all hidden icons.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you find the icon, you can either:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Double-click<\/strong> the icon to open the utility window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Right-click<\/strong> the icon and select <strong>Show<\/strong> from the menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Method B: From the Windows Start Menu<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you cannot find the icon in your System Tray, you can start the utility manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on the <strong>Start Menu<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to your list of programs and find the folder for your embroidery software.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expand the folder and click on <strong>Software Key<\/strong> to launch the program.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once launched, its icon will appear in the System Tray. You can now open it as described in Method A.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 3: Log Out Your License Key<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>With the Software Key utility window open, you will see the status of your license. If it is active, the status will show that the key is &#8220;logged-in&#8221;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure the eXPerience 8 software is closed (as per Step 1).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Log-out<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The utility will connect to the server to deactivate the license on this computer. Once complete, your serial number is free to be used on another machine.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Part 2: Activating the License on a New Computer<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that the license has been logged out from the first computer, you can activate it on a new one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 1: Install and Open the Software Key Utility<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Ensure eXPerience 8 is installed on the new computer. Open the <strong>Software Key utility<\/strong> on the new machine using the same methods described in Part 1 (checking the System Tray or Start Menu).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 2: Log In with Your Serial Number<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the Software Key utility window, you will be prompted to enter your license details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the same <strong>Serial Number<\/strong> and <strong>Activation Code<\/strong> that you used for your original installation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>Log-in<\/strong> button to activate the software on this new computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>\u2b50 Important Tip:<\/strong> You must log out from the first computer before you can successfully log in on a second one.
