You may see the icon of the last shape you used.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the Shapes icon to reveal the full list of available tools.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the <strong>Polygon<\/strong> shape from the menu. Your mouse cursor will change, indicating the tool is now active.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 2: Drawing Your Polygon<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the tool is active, you can define its properties <em>before<\/em> you even draw it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>With the Polygon tool selected, look at the <strong>Tool Options Bar<\/strong> that appears at the top or side of your screen.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set the initial properties for your shape:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Number of Sides:<\/strong> Enter a value to define how many sides your polygon will have (e.g., 3 for a triangle, 5 for a pentagon, 8 for an octagon).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Start Angle:<\/strong> Adjust this value to rotate the orientation of the polygon before you place it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the design canvas, hold the mouse button down, and drag to define the size and position of your polygon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Release the mouse button to finalize the shape.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Useful Tip:<\/strong> After creating a polygon, the tool remains active, allowing you to quickly draw multiple polygons with the same settings. When you are finished, simply <strong>right-click<\/strong> on the canvas to deactivate the tool.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 3: Editing the Polygon Object<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>After creating a polygon, you can easily modify it using two different methods without losing its special properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Editing with the Tool Options Bar<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>If you want to change the number of sides or the rotation of an existing polygon:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select the polygon you wish to edit using the main selection tool.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Tool Options Bar<\/strong> will once again display the polygon&#8217;s properties.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can now change the <strong>Number of Sides<\/strong> or <strong>Start Angle<\/strong>, and the selected shape will update in real-time.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Editing with Special Nodes<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>For quick visual adjustments, use the Node Editor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select the polygon and switch to the <strong>Node Editor<\/strong> tool.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will see several special control nodes on the shape. These nodes are unique to polygon objects.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Angle Node:<\/strong> Click and drag this circular node to visually adjust the <strong>start angle<\/strong> (rotation) of the shape.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Size\/Proportion Node:<\/strong> Click and drag this square node to change the overall <strong>size and proportion<\/strong> of the shape.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Center Node:<\/strong> Click and drag the node at the very center to <strong>re-position<\/strong> the entire polygon on the canvas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>![Image showing a selected polygon with its three special nodes labeled: Angle, Size, and Center]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Step 4: Converting the Polygon to Curves for Manual Editing<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need to edit the individual points or sides of the polygon to create a more custom, asymmetrical shape, you must first convert it to curves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select the polygon you want to fully edit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Right-click on the shape and choose <strong>&#8220;Convert to Curves&#8221;<\/strong> from the context menu.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Important Note:<\/strong> This action is permanent. Once a polygon is converted to curves, the special editing nodes and the ability to change the number of sides from the options bar will be gone.
