Once selected, the nodes of the object will become visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Basic Selection Methods<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Single Selection:<\/strong> Simply click on a node to select it. The node&#8217;s indicator will become larger to confirm it is selected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Range Selection (Shift):<\/strong> To select a sequence of nodes, hold the <strong>Shift<\/strong> key, click the first node, and then click the last node in the desired sequence. All nodes in between will be selected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Toggle Selection (Ctrl):<\/strong> Holding the <strong>Ctrl<\/strong> key while clicking nodes allows you to inverse their current status. Selected nodes will become unselected, and unselected nodes will become selected.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Area Selection:<\/strong> Left-click and drag your mouse to form a rectangle around the specific nodes you wish to select. This can be combined with the Ctrl and Shift keys.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Advanced Selection (Right-Click Menu)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Right-clicking on a node provides three specific selection options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Select Polyline:<\/strong> Selects all nodes belonging to a specific part of the object, such as a single petal in a flower or a specific letter in text.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Select All:<\/strong> Selects every node in the object.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Invert Selection:<\/strong> Selects all nodes <em>except<\/em> the ones currently selected.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Useful Tip:<\/strong> When a single node is selected, arrows appear that allow you to adjust the curvature of the segment. However, if you select multiple nodes at once, these curvature arrows are not available.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Part 2: Adding Nodes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Adding extra nodes is often necessary to reshape an object more easily. There are several ways to insert new nodes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Insertion Methods<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Right-Click:<\/strong> Right-click on the specific point of the outline where you want the node and choose the insert option from the menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Double-Click:<\/strong> Double-click directly on the position on the outline where you want to add a node.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Keyboard Shortcut (+):<\/strong> Place your mouse cursor over the desired point on the outline and press the <strong>+ (plus)<\/strong> key on your keyboard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding Nodes to Segments<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can automatically add a node to the middle of a segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select the node preceding the segment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press the <strong>+ (plus)<\/strong> key.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A new node is added in the middle of the segment immediately following the selected node.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Understanding Node Types<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When a new node is added, it may be a <strong>smooth<\/strong>, <strong>auto-smooth<\/strong>, or <strong>cusp<\/strong> node, depending on the nodes before and after it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>To change a node type:<\/strong> Right-click on the node and select a different type from the menu.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Part 3: Deleting Nodes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can remove nodes to simplify the shape of an object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select one or more nodes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press the <strong>Delete<\/strong> key on your keyboard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alternatively, use the delete option found in the right-click menu.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Useful Tip:<\/strong> Be careful when deleting nodes, as removing them will directly affect and alter the shape of your object.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This guide explains how to manipulate nodes to reshape objects in eXPerience 8.
