Embroidery Designs in Poughquag, NY, is a family-owned business offering high-quality custom machine embroidery through a collaborative, detail-focused process. We use the advanced, professional version of eXPerience 8 embroidery digitizing software, which has become indispensable to our work.

We find eXPerience 8 intuitive and easy to use, despite its extensive feature set. It helps us generate embroidery files efficiently.

We regularly use eXPerience 8 to convert vector files into stitches quickly and with high-quality results. After generating the stitches, we use the software’s tools to enhance the designs and make them more distinctive. The sun design in the first image shows how we used these tools to transform a simple design into a more attractive finished piece.

The second image shows the stitches that eXPerience 8 autogenerated from a simple vector graphic. Although they accurately represent the original graphic, they are all step stitches, which gives the design a flat appearance.

To create the design in the first image, we used several eXPerience 8 tools to add depth, texture, and movement. We adjusted the crescent’s stitch direction with the Stitch Flow tool and applied linear and nonlinear gradients through the Object Properties panel to create highlights in the sun. We added an aura with the Autoborder tool, applied a random edge to one side, and used piping stitches with point directions to form a spiral pattern in the rays. To make the finished design more vibrant, we embroidered the sun’s rays with metallic thread. This design now hangs proudly in our shop.

We have also converted bitmap images into stitches using the PaintStitch tool. For the sun design, eXPerience 8 autogenerated decorative stitches from a flame bitmap image. We arranged those stitches into rays with the Circular Array tool and used them to replace the original piping-stitch rays, creating the unique variation shown in the third image.

Files created in eXPerience 8 are vector-based, so we can edit them directly in the software with node editing instead of revising the original vector file. The Stitch Flow tool also makes it easy to change stitch directions and divide objects. These features save us valuable production time.

The latest version of eXPerience 8 includes a greatly improved text tool, which is especially useful because many of the designs and logos we create require editable text.

Although we primarily use eXPerience 8 to convert designs into stitches, we also occasionally use it as a traditional digitizing tool and to draw shapes.

We export machine files in all commercial file formats, like Tajima, Melco, Barudan FDR, ZSK, Chinese machines etc. as well as for home embroidery machines like Brother, Janome, Bernina, BabyLock, Husqvarna etc. We also export design images like PNG files, to create virtual samples that show clients how a design will look on a blank garment or cap.

Together, these strengths and features of eXPerience 8 help us stand out and deliver exceptional value to our clients.
